The Second Nepal Relief Mission 5/17 ~ 5/25

Bookmark and Share

Nepal’s second earthquake had a magnitude of 7.4. TRMPC will be sending another relief mission from 5/17-5/25.

To Our beloved clinic partners:

We regret to inform you that the Government of Nepal at the present does not need the support of our short-term mobile clinic team. The relevant message is contained in Annex 1 and 2.

However, for those who have already requested time off from work, it is not in our nature to arbitrary give up. So, although we were notified just before we got off work at 5pm this evening, we got in contact with Sri Lankan Authorities right away. The Sri Lankan National authorities welcome us, and we will be going to their clinic sites.

The cost of going to Sri Lanka is NT$45000 while the original cost of going to Nepal was NT$25,000. TRMPC apologizes for such huge difference, and we are willing to subsidize NT$10000 for each volunteer, which will make the total cost NT$35000 for each individual going to Sri Lanka. If you are willing to join us for the Sri Lanka Clinic Mission, please email or call to confirm.

If you are unable to attend this trip, we are still very grateful for your support for TRMPC and hope that you can join us next time.

Sincerely,

TRMPC

IMPORTANT: We only have tomorrow’s work day left. For the convenience of booking tickets, please inform us before 12pm tomorrow. Thank you!

(Translation)

Dear Doctor Wang,

I just visited the Ministry of Health. He told us that the government of Nepal at the present needs long-term medical teams. With regards to short-term medical teams, they are currently not accepting applications. Moreover, to acquire a long-term visa, it will involve the immigration office. They are going to meet to discuss and outline regulations for partnering before contacting President Liu with the decision. If we accept the guidelines presented by the Nepali officials, then we can apply for a permit to go. If we do not accept, then we should not apply. He said that there is no political partiality, every medical organization will be treated the same.

Annex 2.

Dear Dr. Liu,

I hope this mail will find you well. I would like to inform you that we are positive about transit home but we don't need any medical mobile camps now. So you are requested to send detail proposal for transit home.
Beside this, we have some problem regarding visa for long stay and trying to solve this issue with home ministry hope we will find solution very soon.
