Dear friends and volunteers,
Taiwan Root was planning to go to Nigeria for medical mission early this year and Dr. Liu went for mission assessment. After the assessment trip, we decided to cancel the trip since the outbreak of Lassa Fever and changed the trip to Chad. Even so, the trip to Chad was worthy since we had helped two girls to come to Taiwan for medical treatments. See the briefings for two girls www.taiwanroot.org/further_cg.php?id=235
We had scheduled to go to Angola for mission on 2017/02/01~14. But, we have to go to China to get the visa. Under the current atmosphere between Taiwan and China, with consideration of repeating history we encountered in May for being refused to get visa by Kyrgyzstan, Taiwan Root decided to cancel the trip to Angola this time. Getting the mutual understanding from our contact in Angola, we made the decision to go to Nigeria. The contact in Nigeria was very well prepared and welcoming Taiwan Root to visit in Feburary 2017. We are open for registration now.

Bob Lin took us to his rubber park. In early colonial period, British DUNLOP Company had 70000 hectares rubber park. Local residents depended on rubber for living. In order to take care of employees, the company set up hospital and elementary and junior high school in the park. Later on, the franchise right was turned in Bob Lin. To react to the decline of rubber industry, Bob is looking for setting up a vocational school to provide training staffs and families for living skills.
Live is tough there, but education is still important. Local school is very small, which depends on foreigners for development.
