7/28(Thurs.) - Pizza and fried chicken day!
Today volunteer Elaine Chin brought pizza and fried chicken to visit!

(Left)Leila distributed the food for everyone.
(Right)Patricia's mom were braiding her hair while Sylvienne looked quietly, perhaps thinking about her own mother back home. Now that Sylvienne hasa brand new look, she probably can't wait to show her family!

The two girls have been in Taiwan for two months since 5/28 for medical treatment, and they have gained some weight.

7/29(Fri.) - Patricia had her stiches removed.
Patricia returned to the plastic surgery department in the Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital to have her stiches removed on her right hand. Dr. Hu said that her left hand has completely recovered and rehabilitation is no longer required. Dr. Hu also said that she can start the rehabilitation treatment after her right hand recovers.

7/30(Sat.) - Iced Tea Day
TRMPC volunteer Elaine Chin brought handmade drinks again to visit. It was dinner time, and they were cooking "Chadian" pasta! The Chadian women not only have crafty hands but are also creative cooks!

Day 10 after surgery: Sylvienne's upper lip was not as swollen.
The daily massage was very effective and conducive to Sylvienne's recovery.

8/1(Mon.) - Sharing Day
Volunteer Elaine Chin brought candy for the two girls. Sylvienne was very considerate and share her candy with others.

(Left)
Sylvienne is the youngest of her sibilings back home, but she is the older sister here. She is very considerate and always cares for Patricia.
(Right)Patricia showed her left hand happily and bent her fingers. It was as if she was telling us that she was doing very well!

8/2(Tues.) - Check-up day
Sylvienne returned to the plastic surgery department to see Dr. Chen. We were all very surprised to see her brand new face when the bandage was removed.

(Left) Dr. Chen pointed out that Sylvienne needs to continue massgaing both sides of her nose.
(Right) Dr, Chen demonstrated how to massage her nose and she needs to massage for 3-5 minutes every hour. The massage was painful, but Sylvienne was very brave.
Good news! Sylvienne can now

Sylvienne's transformation was a manifestation of not only her tenacity but also her appreciation of her mother's love. We appreciate all the medical personnel, CPC coorperation, and TRMPC's volunteers and friends. The future of the two girls are promising and full of hope!

Follow-up:
Patricia - Rehabililtation appointment every Friday after her right hand recovers
Sylvienne - Check-up appointment every Tuesday, daily massage
