7/23(Sat.) - Sylvienne checked out of the hospital!
Sylvienne had been recovering very quicly after the operation, and she would check out of the hospital today.

Before checking out, the nurse reminded again how to care for the wound while Sylvienne's brother listened intently.

7/24(Sun.) - Iced Tea Day
Volunteer Elaine Chin brings different desserts every week to visit; she also drives Sylvienne in and out of the hospital. Because Sylvienne can now eat liquid food, Elaine brought iced tea today for everyone to share. Handmade drinks are undoubtedly a must-try Taiwanese delicacy, and the Chadians were very impressed.

The two girls were savoring their drinks in hand; it was a joy for the palate!

7/26(Tues.) - Back to the hospital to remove the stitches
Today Sylvienne returned to the Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital to remove her stitches.

Dr. Chen, the specialist in orofacial cleft who made the miracle possible, observed and assessed Sylvienne's recovery progress.

(Right) To reconstruct her nasal bone, a piece of rib was taken out. The wound appeared to recover well.

A nasal bone model was inserted to maintain the shape of the nose and ensure the nostrils remain open. The insertion was a painful processs, but Sylvienne, though frowning, didn't cry out at all.

Dr. Chen reminded Sylvienne that she needs to massage her nose daily to maintain the shape of her new nasal bone and to accelerate the recovery process.

(Right) Like any teenage boy, Sylvienne's brother loved the taste of bubble milk tea and grinned happily. Seeing the wishes of his precious sister come true, Sylvienne's brother felt reliefed. He also promised to help her massage her nose every day.

Goodbye to her old self and Hello to the new Sylvienne!

Today Sylvienne came to remove her stitches. FTV reporters Tsung, Li-Ting and Hsiao, Wei-Jen who participated in TRMPC's 318th medical mission also came to visit. Tsung, Li-Ting showed a picture of Sylvienne before the treatment to her. Sylvienne pointed to the photo and said "bye bye, my old self!" She is ready to embrace her future. Seeing her satisfied, everyone can feel her joy.
