7/17(Sun.) - Happy fried chicken day!
It's our weekly fried chicken day! Volunteer Elaine Chin brought coke and fried chicken to visit.

Leila, the translator, cares for Patricia as if she were her own kid. Leila braided Patricia's hair as Patricia lay on Leila's lap. Their friendships are firm and evident after spending these past two months together.

Patricia's left hand was almost fully recovered.

Patricia and her mother are certainly pleased with the results of the treatment.
When Patricia was not at the hospital, Leila and Patricia's mother both helped and encouraged Patricia with rehabilitation.

7/19(Tues.) - Sylvienne checked out of the hospital and Patricia returned  check-up
Volunteer Elaine Chin drove Patricia and her mother to the plastic surgery department in the Linkou Chang Gung Memorial hospital for a check-up to assess her progress of wound recovery and rehabilitation. Then, Chin drove Sylvienne to the Craniofacial department in the Taoyuan Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for check-up and later to the plastic surgery department in the Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Hu closely observed how Patricia's right ring finger had recovered. Dr. Hu concluded that self-recovery took too long and decided to perform another graft surgery tomorrow (7/21).

(Left)Sylvienne first went to the Craniofacial department in Taoyuan Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for a check-up.
(Right) She later returned to the plastic surgery department in Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. Dr. Chen, the department director, assessed Sylvienne's current situation, and Sylvienne was able to check out of the hospital.

7/20(Wed.) - Sylvienne's second surgery- reconstructing the lips and nasal bone

(Left)Sylvienne made a victory sign to the camera. Although Sylvienne had been worried about the surgery and the treatment and she couldn't eat what she like for a couple days, Sylvienne was still very courageous. She faced all the difficulties head-on so that she can recover soon.
(Right) Sylvienne was taking the blood test.

3:30pm Sylvienne was ready to go inside the surgery room. She smiled to the camera even though she was really nervous. What we are seeing here is how much a girl has grown up to be strong and confident, and it is drastically different from the Sylvienne who just arrived in Taiwan!

(Left)Everyone accompanied Sylvienne on her way to the surgery room. FTV reporters Tsung, Li-Ting and Hsiao, Wei-Jen both came to encourage Sylvienne.
(Right) The paramedics put on a surgical cap for Sylvienne and took her inside the surgery room. The predicted duration of the surgery (including the time needed for the anesthetics to wear off) was 6 hours in total.

TRMPC will continue documenting the two girls' progress on treatment.
Join us and let's cheer Patricia and Sylvienne up together!
